This change has negatively impacted our monthly donation signup form, as our bookkeeper relied on the contents of the description field in the stripe export to indicate which subscription package was chosen. Stipe already knows the name of the subscriber, so I'm not sure why you made this change.

The customer object created on Stripe does not contain any information about the person at all, that is why we changed the description to customer name.
As for the chosen subscription package, it can be found under the customer object such as in the screenshot I provided below:

As a matter of fact, the exported file does contain the plans customers are subscribed to. These are under the column Plan of the CSV file generated by the export.
Hope you find this information useful. Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Which export file are you referring to? The payments exports csv file that stripe gives me doesn't contain this information. The only indication is column AP, which contains a value for the invoice number, which only seems to have a value for subscription transactions.

I presume you are referring to the subscription amount and name not being included in the data exported from stripe
I will notify my colleague Neil, so that he can provide some clarification regarding the fields affected by the recent fix for the integration.
