Are files that are uploaded with Transloadit app temporary?

I like the functionality of the Transloadit app, but I would like clarification as to whether the files that are uploaded via the app are saved permanently or temporarily.

On the Transloadit website it says, "We currently do not offer hosting for your files. Hence, we also do not charge for bandwidth or storage for your files."  Yet, with the Jotform app the files are saved to Amazon S3 at: http://tmp.transloadit.com.s3.amazonaws.com/uniquefilename. Can I count on those files being there tomorrow? Forever? The "tmp" in the address makes me wonder, but what is the good of the app if the are just temporary?

Transloadit won't keep the files forever unless you will upload it on your server or other services like Amazon S3. The link you have provided isn't from Jotform but from Transloadit, which is temporarily hosting the files. Unfortunately, they don't specify the time range to how long the files will be kept.

Here's a continuation of your quotes from Transloadit.

"If you want to persist your files you need to use services like Amazon S3 or Rackspace Cloudfiles, which will send you a separate invoice every month. We offer ways to export your files to these services and to your own FTP servers automatically."

Base on the statement, you can connect 3rd party services like Amazon S3 or even your FTP on Transloadit, so files will be automatically uploaded in your Amazon S3 account and FTP server.

Hope this clears your question. Thanks!

I was told by Transloadit that the files are deleted after 24 hours.
