How Do I Format Dates in Notifications, Autoresponders and Thank You Messages?

    1.  I have a hidden date field in a form that uses the current date.  When the date prints in my confirmation letter it prints as 11/15/2015.  How can I get it to print like November 15, 2015?

    2.  I am using a recurring payment option in the payment widget.  It is set up so that the person writes in the amount they are paying depending on the payment frequency.    For instance, I have payment frequencies set up for monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and yearly payments.  For each of those the person chooses how much they want to pay.

In the confirmation letter we want to include the information from the payment transaction which shows which option they choose.  The sentence reads like 'This letter confirms your first installment of .....".  Do you have any suggestions on how I can capture that information in the letter?

    Hi again Carolyn,

There's actually no need for the hidden date field. Just change the tag in the autoresponder to {DATE:F j, Y}. As a demo, I've cloned your form and placed that tag in its thank you message. Just go to https://form.jotform.com/53166436933965 and click the form's submit button to see the result. If you were to clone the demo you'll see that it indeed has no date field.

This guide shows alternative formats of the {DATE} tag.

Since your second question is about an unrelated issue, it has been moved to another thread (http://www.jotform.com/answers/704607) where it will be addressed in due course.

If there's anything else with which you would like assistance, please inform us.

    Enjoy your weekend :)
