Updatable hidden fields

I would like to include a couple of hidden fields in a form that can be filed out by the person receiving the form. For example the form might contain details of an item for valuation and I would like the fields containing the estimated value hidden on the form with the items details but available for filling later by the valuer.

I don't really want this to be managed via a paper (e-mail) option but some other way. I was hoping that it might be possible to allow someone later in the chain to update the specific fields in the "Submissions" report but that is not possible.

Do you have any suggestions as to how I might achieve this?

I believe you can do this by two ways.

    Method 1:

You can update the hidden fields directly in the "Submissions" page when you edit the submission itself. Here are some sample steps that I did:

    1. First, add a text box and set it to hidden

    2. I will then fill out the form

    3. Now in the "Submissions" page, you can update the hidden field by clicking the "Edit" button.

    4. In the edit mode, you'll see the hidden field is not visible.

    Method 2:

Another way for this is using API to update hidden fields. Unfortunately, you'll need to either be familiar with our API codes OR hire a developer to work this part of your work flow process. Here's a guide to learn more about our API, specifically on how to update a submission: http://api.jotform.com/docs/#post-submission-id

Let us know if that helps.
