Unable to see CVs that are uploaded with Drag and Drop widget

If you take a submission with an uploaded file, and create a PDF with the submission, the uploaded files cannot be seen.

I had to hide the field that allowed users to upload their CVs because the resultant PDF that gets mailed to our client does not include the uploaded field.

Can you please confirm to us if the issue is happening on this form: http://www.jotform.us/form/52427046452149 or is this happening on some other form?

Knowing what is the form will allow us to check it and hopefully see what is causing this issue.

Also, can you tell us if the same form is being used directly (as the link above) or is it being used when embedded on some website?

    Yes, http://www.jotform.us/form/52427046452149

Not embedded. It starts with www.onlinejobap.com, but not embedded.

    Hi,

I checked your form but it seems that your upload fields are hidden on the form.

I have cloned your form and showed the fields. I was able to upload a document.

Do let us know if you need further assistance.

Can I see your clone's link? I'll submit an example so we can test it out.

Usually, my form only stops accepting the file after I Customize the PDF.

    Hi,

Here is my cloned form - http://www.jotform.com/53217903498967. When you say customize the PDF, are you referring to the Customize PDF in the submission page(Submission Page > Get PDF > Customize PDF)?

If so, I tried it also to customize the pdf but I was not able to replicate the issue. Please try to test my clone form and see if it will work.

We will wait for your response.
    Regards.

Yes, Customize PDF in the submission page (Submission, Get, Customize).

I submitted a test to your clone with file attachments. How can I see if now works?

    Hi,

If you access the link to the submission that I have provided, you can see the link to the uploaded file at the bottom part of the list.

Thanks, but it's the PDF that does not show the attachments.

    Here's a test form: https://form.jotform.com/53007999566167?

    Here is a submission: http://www.jotform.com/submissions/53007999566167

Yes, the files are included with the submission, no problem.

Now please click "Get PDF" and look at the submission. Do you see the attachments in the PDF?

    Hi Mike.

I would like to mention that in regards to regular file uploads, I had raised a thread to our developers here: http://www.jotform.com/answers/692240-Upload-field-is-not-shown-in-custom-PDF-designer-unless-the-field-has-some-image-uploaded-over-it

Unfortunately it is still not resolved, but our developer is still looking into it.

My colleague Mike had suggested the Drag And Drop upload widget since it did seem to work in the PDF as well, and at first it seemed that it worked, but that you were not able to upload CVs over the Drag And Drop widget. Can you please tell us if that is still the issue?

I have cloned your form above and tried to upload a CV (a file actually) and it seems to work - the uploads that is.

    Here is the form: https://form.jotform.com/53236973616967

    Here are the submissions:

    http://eu.jotform.com/submission/323869170432227136 (3 files)

    http://eu.jotform.com/submission/323869044432944760 (1 file)

    http://eu.jotform.com/submission/323869118432450521 (1 file)

Now, this is a widget so it seems to return raw data, not the link as the regular file upload does.

However on submissions panel they show correctly: http://eu.jotform.com/submissions/53236973616967

    Use jotform as password.

Now when testing PDFs, this is what I got:

Unable to see CVs that are uploaded with Drag and Drop widget Image 1 Screenshot 20

If you visit the page above, you should be able to grab your own copy of the PDF through Get PDF option.

The only issue that might be present is that I am in EU and you are in US, so you might not be able to access the eu subdomain, but hopefully you will be able to do so, if not, do let us know and I will ask one of my colleague's to create the same test.

I would just like to finish up with a question if you are still having issues with the uploads of files through the Drag And Drop widget?

If you are not having any issues, my suggestion would be to do as you mentioned - hide the regular file uploads and then leave the Drag & Drop upload widget visible instead.

    Hope this helps Mike.

Yes, I can see the PDF now includes the uploaded files in your form. Great!

Unfortunately, I don't have the same luck: https://form.jotform.com/53007999566167

Maybe I should move to EU. :)

    Here's what you can do.

Customize the PDF and on the PDF Design page, use the Reset button to take the PDF copy of the submission back to its original format. It should show the missing link(s) to the file(s) uploaded through the Drag and Drop widget.

Don't forget to save the changes using the Save button of the PDF design page.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

I cloned my form, reset it, did a submission with two jpg files. Everything looked great! The images and a link to download the jpg files were in the PDF.

I decided the bug was fixed and spent a great deal of time customizing the clone’s PDF.

I then checked the first submission and the picture was still in the PDF, but not the link!

I then tried another submission with a different jpg file and a Word doc. The jpg file is in the PDF, but not the jpg link. The Word doc question and document are not even in the PDF.

I hope your developer can fix this issue soon.

Yes! I see it too. I also see the Drag & Drop field is now visible in the Customize PDF screen.

I hope the File Upload fields become visible in the Custom PDF screen soon.

    Thanks

Thank you for confirming that everything works for you when you use the Drag and Drop widget. Regarding the File Upload field, the issue is still being worked on by our developers. Please be assured that you will be updated on this thread, Upload-field-is-not-shown-in-custom-PDF-designer-unless-the-field-has-some-image-uploaded-over-it, you have created once there is an update.

    Thank you.
