I am not quite sure what you mean by not being able to open your private key Kristal?

Can you please tell us if you are trying to open the downloaded private key or if you are trying to upload the private key to read the submitted data?

In regards to your other questions please note that we can only assist with one question per thread, so I have moved your other 2 questions to a new thread. In future it is best to open a new thread for  each subject.

The new threads have been moved to:

    http://www.jotform.com/answers/710393 - about HIPAA compatibility

http://www.jotform.com/answers/710394 - about PDF and image uploads

We will be responding to both shortly.

The private key is a text file, so you should be able to open it in Notepad, or any other basic text editor. It is likely that you do not have any application associated with .key files, which is why it was not allowing you to open it previously.

Please do note that there should however not be any reason for you to open this file since opening it and saving it again could damage the file so before you do any changes on the file, my suggestion is to copy the private key so that you have backups of the original one since we can not issue you the same private key and only the original one can be used to show you your submissions.

If you are trying to open it to send the key to someone else, my suggestion would be to send it as an attachment instead.
