Keeps deleting field value on calculation

Asked by midwalestourism on November 26, 2015 at 06:17 AM

Hi i'm having an issue with the calculator widget. I have set up the following form:

and it works ok for the 'principle business' but everytime I try to then add a multiple business it deletes the value in the 'principle business' total?/

Also when you untick a box it doesn't seem to delete the values?

    Any thoughts??

This would be a fantastic tool if I could get it to work!

I'm not quite sure how your calculation works.

I checked your form and saw that you are adding values by conditions.

I would suggest the following changes instead:

    1. Instead of using the conditional logic, you can assign calculation values on your check boxes. Here's a guide: http://www.jotform.com/help/301-How-to-Assign-Calculation-Value

    2. After that, you can instead fetch all of the check boxes and sum it up on the form calculation widget. Here's a guide: http://www.jotform.com/help/259-How-to-perform-calculation-in-the-form

I tried making these changes in my cloned form, you can check it here: https://form.jotform.com/53293810461958?. However, I wasn't able to assign calculation values on the additional multi businesses because I don't know their values. You can clone my form to see how I set it up. Here's a guide on how to clone my form: http://www.jotform.com/help/42-How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL

I hope that helps. Do let us know if you have questions on this.
