    "Autocomplete widget" - entries limitations

Asked by goquote on November 30, 2015 at 03:37 AM

After reading advise from other posts, I decided to use the "autocomplete widget.

I am using it for Australian suburbs. I would like it to function like this one:

    http://www.serviceseekers.com.au/

The Autocomplete widget wont seem to let me put in more than a couple of hundred entries? I need to put in several thousand.

    Any suggestions?

P.S. these are the suburbs I need to enter: file:///C:/Users/Benny/Downloads/standard_postcode_file_pc001_26112015.unlocked.pdf

Our autocomplete widget can only hold up to 64970 characters based on the previous threads that I have handled. This is a number from our backend team. We have this limit to ensure that the speed of the form won't be affected and to prevent the browser from crashing. We used Javascript for this widget.

You can use this website to count the number of characters: http://charactercounttool.com/
