for my 2012 spec guide pre-order form, i have set up an auto responder to be sent to each person that fills out the form, confirming their "order." i have heard from several people that they are not getting a confirmation, please help.

The autoresponders must have been tagged as Spam/Junk mail by their mail service provider. Have you told them to check their Spam folders for the said confirmation email?
If the emails are not in their Spam folders, there is a possibility that the mail service providers have blocked the message due to an issue with DomainKeys. It is when a message contains a "From" address that is different from where it really came from.
In that case, the only solution is to change your autoresponder's Sender's Name and Email to JotForm and firstname.lastname@example.org, respectively.
