Is There a Way to Change the Field Type Without Deleting, Recreating and Positioning?

sometimes i create one type of field, set it all up and then realize i would have preferred a different field or widget. i have to then delete what i was working on, find the other field/widget type and add it, and then drag it awkwardly within a large form. can you please develop the functionality to simply "change field type" so for example i can change a simple text box into a form calculation or any other widget? it's quite annoying that i can't easily keep the current layout and just swap field/widgets in the same place.

Unfortunately, we don't have this feature right now; but you have spotted a good point, this could be a feature that needs to be considered. Now, I'm opening a feature request for this one, so the ticket will be evaluated and will get in a ToDoList queue.

In the current circumstances, you can duplicate the existing fields or you can copy and paste the options from the existing fields. In addition, you can use the existing CSS styling by changing the ID of the field from the CSS code; but none of them is not close to the option that you mentioned.

So, thank you for your advice and cooperation. If there is an update for this one, you will be informed from this thread.

    Have a nice day.

    Hi,

I just ran into this issue with one of my forms, 51914358490965. My new Field_359 is now a "input type=text" and I want to make it a "textarea" type.

Is there an update on this option?

(My form is embedded at the site in order to be able to use our data base.)
