The Hint Example Tool for Phone Fields Works for Just the First Input of the Field

    Hi there,

I would like to suggest to make some updates to the phone field:

    1. If you use mask value (###) ###-#### the hint example only works for the first box (in my case country code) but not for the other boxes. I would like to display a preview like this (+49) 179 755 83 67 but I can't fill anything in the second and third box

    2. Some people don't know the country codes (especially when they are travelling). It would be helpful to have a country dropdown, for example the person types "IN" and the dropdown suggests "India" and "Indonesia" with a country flag and by selecting it, the country code, for example +62 for Indonesia will be filled in

    3. Force format: Some CRM software has problems with +CC (country code) and prefers CC (without +). It would be good if I could set the format I want:

    +CC
    CC
    00CC

    Happy new year!

    Thanks for your suggestions, Chris.

It's actually the setting with an individual text box for each section and not the mask value one (pictured below) to which you're referring:

But you're right that there should be a way to include a hint example for each box. Surely, that must have been an oversight on our part. I'll see if we can get that corrected but in the meantime you can use the Hover Text tool to inform the user of the required format:

    2. Some people don't know the country codes (especially when they are travelling). We have a couple of widgets which provide country codes for phone fields:

    Phone Picker

    Country Code

Here's how to use widgets in your JotForms.

    3. Force format: Some CRM software has problems with +CC (country code) and prefers CC (without +). It would be good if I could set the format I want:

    +CC
    CC
    00CC

Yes, that's a good idea. I'll submit a ticket requesting that such a setting be included in the aforementioned widgets.

Thanks for your suggestions and Happy New Year to you too!

Actually, in relation to your first suggestion, upon further investigation I discovered that you just need to insert commas to insert hint texts for each box. Please see the following screenshot:

This JotForm has a phone field with hint text in each input having its own hint text.

    Thanks
