Show & Hide in one Conditional Logic

Asked by Kirsten on January 01, 2016 at 08:15 PM

    Hi there,

We're trying to apply the following conditional logic:

If Field A is filled (or equal to yes), then show Field B, Field C, & Field D, and hide Field A.

The fields that are supposed to show up do appear, but so does the field we are wanting to hide. Could you take a look at our form and tell us what we need to do in order to achieve this? It is under the "Your Books" heading.

    Thank you!!

    Hi,

    Thank you for contacting us.

I have checked your account and I can see conditions are working fine in your form.

Could you tell us the specific condition that is not working ?

We will wait for your response.

    Thanks.

Sorry, you are right. The conditional I spoke of is working. What we would like, though, is the following:

In the books section, before any data is entered, the following fields should not show up; B2 Add a third book, B3 Add a fourth book, B4 Add a fifth book, B5 Add a sixth book, B6 Add a seventh book.

    Thanks!

I'm now quite sure how you would like your conditions to work. How exactly would you like to show or display those selections?

If those are hidden or not visible, then when should they be displayed? What fields should be filled out to display them?

Another tip, you can follow this guide to hide or show group of fields using the collapse tool: http://www.jotform.com/help/297-Show-or-Hide-multiple-fields-at-once-using-form-collapse-tool

    We'll wait for your response.

Thank you! The collapse tool worked really well for this section!

A little problem, though. I've applied the collapse tool to all 7 books, except the first book is not showing up when the value of the number of books they would like to showcase is 2-7. It shows up if the value is 1, but for no other value. Could you take a look at it?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I checked your form and this is the issue I can see :

I have checked your conditions and I can see you are using the option Show, to show the first field when the entered number is 1, then you are using Show Multiple option to show the field when the entered number is more than 1, I think there is a conflict between conditions, and you should only use one type of conditions, I mean only use Show Multiple even if you are showing only one field, as the image below :

Then your conditions seem to be working fine, see the result on this screencast :

See the conditions on my form : https://form.jotform.com/60017109135949

    Feel free to clone it.

    Hope this will help you.

    Thanks.

    It works perfectly now! Thanks!

One last small item. The text field under "How many books are you showcasing on your Author Site" is too wide. I have tried to make it smaller using the the "Size" button in the tool bar, but no matter how many characters I set it to, the size doesn't change. What am I doing wrong?

    Thank you!!
