I am not sure if I understand your question correctly. What do you mean by short column name (field name)?

Can you please provide more details regarding the nature of your question so we can come up with an appropriate answer or solution?

We'll be waiting for your response. Thanks!

Thank you for your prompt response.
I mean the field names that can be inserted when generating email. Those would be very helpful to receive in Excel format because I use a FileMaker Pro database to keep all the data I collect from jotform and I'd like to use the column names of the Excell report as the field names in my FileMaker database.
    Thank you!

Sorry but it still sounds vague. When you said "field names that can be inserted when generating email", were you referring to the form field placeholders such as these?

Yes, those! I would like to be able to export the data in Excel using those as the column headers. It is possible?
    Thank you!

    Dew,

Unfortunately, its not possible to use them field variable names on the Excel downloads of your submissions.

I too would like to name the column names used in the database and therefore the spreadsheets etc. Using the label content as a column name makes them very cumbersome and not very user friendly.

Would it not be possible to provide a property of the input field that we could set ourselves that would then be used, in preference to the label if it exisited.
