Why are the jotform submission registration numbers not in order or are we losing files?

    I am from the Education department at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. We are using jotform for the STRATFORD CHALLENGE - a provincial and national competition. The registration numbers assigned concern me as it looks like we may have lost some files (or is it that the applicants didn't upload their materials correctly). What we have so far is the following:


    # 1 = Jason Clarke test

    # 2 = Luisa test

    # 4 = Becky Shaw

    # 5 = Samantha Westlake

    # 6 = Cory Abraham

    #10 = Michele Muzzi

    What happened to registration numbers 3, 7, 8, and 9?

    Hello Luisa,

    Thank you for contacting us.

    If you fill out the form, put incorrect data into form captcha field, and press a Submit button, the form will forward you to a new page in order to re-type the captcha. Then, if you close the "re-type captcha" page, submission ID will be counted.

    It is most probably that #3, #7, #8, and #9 submissions were abandoned by submitters on the re-type captcha page. I am not sure if they were legit submissions (not some Bots).

    Luisa, My colleagues would like to add that JavaScript should be enabled in the submitter's browser, otherwise the Captcha field will not show any image.
