How can I move to a certain page depending on selection

Asked by ian  on January 07, 2016 at 11:34 AM

I have a prompt with 6 associated check boxes. I want to add a button to direct me to a new page on the condition that all 6 of those boxes were check all 6 of those boxes were checked.  Can I do that with your tools, or can I only do it if I know how to write the code to embed?

Can you please indicate if you are referring to the form, 60004367336146? I have just viewed this form and did not notice a multipage form. It is a 1 big form.

To accomplish this you require to dived your form in multiple pages

Once you have multiple pages, you can create a condition to jump to different pages in that form.

While reviewing, I noticed that you have created this account in a guest account. I strongly suggest you create a free account for you forms. This will avoid future problems you might have.

Yes. I am planning on breaking it up. For the first part, I would like to allow the user to advance to the next page only if all 6 check boxes are checked (all associated with the first question). Can I make a condition like that?
I did not know I had a guest account. I will look into establishing a free account. I don't know how to do that yet. I will look.

I have created a sample form base on one of your forms that we can use as a reference. Here's a link to that form. Kindly inspect it.

    https://form.jotform.com/60071824457960

You will notice that you can not move to the next page without checking all the checkboxes. You can click the Next button but that would only give you warning that you need to select the minimum selection which is 6.

To do that, you need to set the field to required and assign a minimum selection to it after you ahve added a page break.

    Here's how:

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

    Mike_G,
I am absolutely blown away with your fantastic response to my query regarding conditional response for a set of check boxes. Not only did you provide an answer and a solution, but with a clear and concise demonstration. Beyond what I could expect. And to take it even further, I am amazed at how versatile your application is, and the extent of tools you offer. After trying various applications of different sorts that leave me with limited tools, confusing navigation and lack of support, JotForm refreshes my confidence that a well designed application is still possible. And you can quote me on that.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thank you for the fantastic demonstration. After applying it, I find that I have a bit more to it that I want.
I would like to direct to one page if all 6 boxes are checked, but if less than 6 boxes are checked, then I would like to direct to a different page.
I could just as well do with a message of my choice, if less than 6 boxes are checked, while direction to another page if all 6 boxes are checked.
Basically, I want the user to see a message saying they are done, if not all 6 boxes are checked, and not advance to the remainder of the form (subsequent pages) unless all 6 boxes are checked.
Looking at conditional logic, it would seem I could construct it if I break the check boxes into 6 sections instead of multiple choice in one section. But I haven'r tried it, and it seems awkward, visually and functionally.
    Any ideas?

What you would like to happen is also possible, however, we need to create a different approach for it.

    Here's another demo-form: https://form.jotform.com/60087402941957

    To do that:

First, you need to remove the minimum selection for the checkbox field you have set at an earlier time. (base on my instructions above)

Second, add two page-breaks, one will direct to the message if less than 6 options were selected and another one that will direct to the page to continue the form if all of the 6 options were selected otherwise.

Third, using Text field from the form tools of your form builder page create a message for those who didn't select all the 6 checkboxes. Put the field between the two page-breaks. (Optional: you can also add a submit button on that page of the form after the message)

Fourth, Make sure the Next button of the page-break after the message you have created is hidden.

Lastly, create the condition to make it work.

    Here's how it works:

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.
