How to avoid receiving multiple submissions of the same entry from the same person.

I have, at times received 2 and even 3 of a person's report about 6 times now.  One after the other.

But this one is nuts.  More than 10!  they are not for the same time.  Don't see a pattern in the times.

Duplicate answers are possible especially if there are no Form Limits set on your form. Your form can be submitted multiple times by the same person.

If you don't want to receive multiple submissions(reports) of the same entry from the same person, you can set a limit for your form.

Here are guides that you might want to check to help you setting limits.

    How-to-Set-Unique-Submissions-on-a-Form

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have any further questions with any of the guides above and we will be glad to help you. Thank you.

    1) I know that the people are NOT submitting duplicate forms.  There is a bug or something  somewhere.

    2) I'll see about setting limits on the form.

I'm sorry about that. If you experience it again in the future, please feel free to contact us so we can further investigate it. Also, let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding Form Limits.

    Thank you.

I don't understand why it has to happen again in order for it to be investigated.  Or at least looked nto.  I gave you the person's name, etc.

I mean now that I put limits on things it shouldn't happen ... right?

The reason why we need to further observe it before it can be investigated is we need to find a concrete proof that there is really an issue on our end. In your case, again, there can be a possibility that submitters have been submitting your form multiple times or it can also be an issue on their end, for example, the browser they used to submit your form.

Since you have put proper limits to your forms already, multiple submissions should not happen again to your form.

Also, another way that you can prevent multiple submissions is by adding a Captcha field from the Quick Tools of the form builder to your form. How-to-Add-a-Captcha

Or you can also use the widget, Google reCaptcha

Using captcha will help you prevent spamming bots from sending your form multiple times. It's also one way of protecting web forms.

    Thank you.

The only way we can check your concern is through your forms and your form's submissions. I would suggest you do not delete duplicate submissions once you receive it and inform us about it so we can check. Also, may I ask if the form is embedded on a website? If it is, can you provide us the website to which it is embedded, please?

With regards to using Captcha, I understand your point about it. The only preventive measure available for you now to avoid multiple submissions is the form limits. Let us know how it goes and if you have any questions about it, please do not hesitate to contact us anytime.

    Thank you.
