Here is an example of an ahref within a check box form field that does not open up in a new page. I put the code within the checkbox column.
-What academic division were you accepted to? Checkbox Form Field.
-See For more information link, which opens in the ifram instead of a new page.
-placing a target=_blank element within the ahref does not help either.
Is there a solution to this?Page URL:

In the html href code you can set the target attribute to blank so that the link would open up in a new window. It should look something like: .
Hope this helps.

To reiterate my colleague's answer, this is what you should place in your checkbox option:
The New School for Public Engagement <a target="_blank" href="http://www.newschool.edu/about.aspx" rel="nofollow noopener" >For more information</a>
