I would like to create a forum that collects information on different products. It would be perfect if I can have a mechanism where the user can reload previous submissions to have it update in case any changes occur.

I'm sorry, but this is not possible in the form builder.
The closest feature that is available is the User Contributed Dropdown widget: http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/user_contributed_dropdown. A user can add their own option in the widget and make it available for the next users. Please try it.

Thanks for your prompt response. Very nice and useful widget but it would not solve my problem (i think).
Wanted to create a list of submissions to allow any user to modify a previous submission.
The idea is to crowd source a list of products and the person submitting may not be to same person modifying a submission. -

Unfortunately, what you are trying to accomplish is not possible.
