I want to list several questions where the person filling out the form will enter a dollar amount.  Then I need to list which one of those entries will be subtracted/added and the last blank will be an equal to the above.  While I would like to have this automatically calculated, it would be ok if I could just show which blanks were to be added/subtracted and have the person filling out the form do the calculation.

    Thank you for contacting us.

You can use Hint Example option to show dollar sign inside of text box fields.

Inside of this guide you can find out how to perform calculation inside of form: http://www.jotform.com/help/259-How-to-perform-calculation-in-the-form

I have made demo form and I have set calculation like this. I have also added $ sign at the and of calculation.

Here is my demo form: https://form.jotform.com/60105491507954 Feel free to clone it

However, when I inspected webpage you provided I saw that you are using Fillable PDF forms. Please note that Hint Example text will not be shown inside of Fillable PDF form. Also widgets are not working inside of Fillable PDF forms. More about Fillable PDF forms you can find inside of this guide:
