Integrate Jotforms with a school (or any) database system?

Asked by alexzanderdausch on January 13, 2016 at 04:10 PM

    Hello,

I am a Student Services Coordinator and jack of all trades at a vocational school that serves about 300 students per year. I discovered and started using JotForms just over a year ago and since then I have built and implemented some totally amazing forms to allow people to apply online and many other things, because of how awesome JotForms is. Recently, my school decided to transition to a database system called Blackbaud. This is a very heavy and non-user-freindly database system with just an awful form builder. I have been wrestling with it endlessly. All the while my Jotforms are looking great, working great and functioning correctly. Even though Blackbaud is usually integrated by a large team of people, I have been tasked with the integration all by myself. It is nearly impossible to do, given that I have like 5 other jobs here.

All of that being said, my question is this: Is there any sort of searchable database system I can send Jotform information to and integrate with the forms that are submitted in order to avoid moving away from JotForms and continuing with the awful and dreaded Blackbaud. I already integrate the application forms with Google spreadsheets, Drive, Constant Contact and PayPal. That's all well and good, but I need to be able to use a database system where I can see student profiles, differentiate between who is accepted, enrolled, finished, etc. Please advise on anything I can do.

    Alex

    Hello Alex,

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Joform, that really puts a smile in our face. :)

Anyway, while we do not have a direct feature for that, we suggest to find a perfect service that meets your requirement and that allows Jotform integration over Zapier. If you aren't familiar with Zapier, I suggest to check this article: http://www.jotform.com/blog/65-JotForm-is-now-on-Zapier-Send-Your-Form-Data-to-100-Web-Services. While I can't provide you a specific service that offers such feature, I suggest to consider these CRMs https://zapier.com/zapbook/#sort=popular&filter=crm.

Alternatively, you can also send Jotform to your MySQL database, this requires basic experience with PHP scripting. Guide: http://www.jotform.com/help/126-How-to-Insert-Update-Submissions-to-Your-MySQL-Database-Using-PHP

If there's anything else you need help with, please let us know and we'd be happy to help you.

    Thank you so much!

And by the way, you might want to consider other Interlogy's product aside from Jotform like the Profile Manager Basic. This might suit your needs. http://interlogy.com/products/. This is a very simple membership platform that allows you to customize every forms.

    Thanks!
