Auto-fill option does not seem to work

When I pretend I am a submittor, my answers are not being saved from one viewing to the next. I went in to double-check the settings, which somehow changed, and now even though I changed them back to autosave every 4 seconds and for 4 weeks, the answers are still not being saved. How can I fix this?

Nevermind; now it seems to be working. Maybe there was a significant delay in activation for some reason. You can close this ticket.

Thank you for the update. I do want to let you know about the continue later feature after reading your reply and checking out your form.

On such long forms, setting up the continue later - Auto Fill option for 4 seconds is more than likely to cause issues on your form.

The reason is that every 4 seconds a code is run to save all values of all fields on your form. More fields you have means more time to capture all the values.

For example if it needs 1 second to capture all of the values into your browser (this is where the data is stored) and you have it set up for 4 seconds, it means that every 3 seconds this is run. Taking into account that the form is big, it needs some time to load and as input is added there is validation that is run and similar this means that you are practically issuing the save as soon as the other had finished.

If you grab some older device and try to open the form you will notice this much better than on newer devices with a lot of resources.

For such long forms you should either use the alternative method of continuing later - email sessions - How to Save Forms to Continue Later

This requires page breaks and it saves data per page. Alternatively if you wish to use Auto-Fill feature, you should set it up to a minimal of 20 seconds, while I would recommend using 30 or more.

It is quite likely that since the value was low, it was already saving the data (empty fields) before it was able to get the previously saved data.
