emails after editing a submission

Do emails go to the person who put in submission after the submission is edited on our end? If yes is it possible to stop this and only sent email when the submission is first submitted?

No, an autoresponder email will not be sent to the user who submitted the form when you edit a submission. You can safely edit the submission on the submission page.
