Setting up Special pricing on all products

Asked by indianacrc on January 22, 2016 at 03:34 PM
I am having trouble setting up the Integration tool to work properly. Each time I select multiple products with multiple choices I type in all of the choices for the first product - Primary Item (Exhibition Space). Their appropriate values are then input after I click ''Enable Special Pricing" and go to the next page. I want all products and all their choices, not just this first one to be ''Enable Special Pricing" so I need to be able to duplicate this another 15 or 16 times. However, when I try to save the product and start on my second item, I keep getting the error message saying "Only numeric values are accepted".

Based on what you have mentioned the error does not seem to be related to the special pricing: What is Special Pricing?

Based on the above, it seem that you are able to set the special pricing and then when you are returned to the screen with all of the products and click on Save Product, you get the error mentioned above.

That suggests that the product itself is not set up properly, but until seeing how you set it up we would not be able to see what exactly is causing it, so my suggestion is to actually set the products first.

Now once you add all of them, to go in to the first and add special pricing. Please do add only one option at a time and let us know what is the specific setup that you try to create and get the error.

Okay, I was able to save the product and then input a value to each of the products. I'm putting "0" in the "Price" for each New Product because it will not let me Save Product until something is put in that field. So I'm putting "0" in "Price" before I change the predefined amounts.

When I try to preview this, it keeps saying "New Product 'free'" and whenever I change the option selected (The first option is in fact free.) the associated values will not come up. It just keeps saying free. I am not getting the appropriate values to show up on the form.

Also, I would like to know if within this feature you can use form logic such as multiplication and min/max because I used it in my form.

Yes, a value needs to be entered when creating a new product, even if it is zero. This is so that a product can be valid even if you remove the option from the product later on.

If I understand it correctly, you are now having the problem that no matter which option is selected on a product, the total price remains the same (see image):

If you want each of the options on a product to have a different price, you can set it up directly when editing the product option with Special Pricing (see image):

Please don't forget to click on Finish in order to close the dialog correctly, and then click on Save Product in order to apply the change to the product.

By setting a different price for each option, this new "special" price will be set on the product when that particular option is selected (see image):

Please let us know how it goes, or if you experience any further problems in setting it up, and we will be happy to help.

Thank you! That definitely fixed that problem and I can replicate it now!

My next question, and this really only applies to Meeting Rooms because the total price = ((Number of Days [*each day having a coefficient*]) x (Seated or Unseated) x (Square Foot [*using a QTY maybe in the integration??*])) + (Half Day Surcharge - if Yes = .1 x SquareFoot). So it's not a simple pick a predefined value. There are multiplication tables involved. Can this integration do form calculation logic like I have it set up in Jotform? To view on the form below select Meeting Room for both Event Space and Confirm Event Space and you can play with the Meeting Room section to get what I need to build next.

And my last question for the moment. I want to be able to discount only CERTAIN items. Is there a way to limit which items are discounted??

Thank you for the visuals. Immensely useful!

On behalf of my colleagues, you're welcome.

Your second question has been moved to this thread : http://www.jotform.com/answers/754477

This is in order to assist you better, we will assist you there.

And my last question for the moment. I want to be able to discount only CERTAIN items. Is there a way to limit which items are discounted??

Based on the guide, you can add options and then add the special price for the options, then I think that if you would like to discount only for certain products, then you can let the price for those products without discount the same, for example, lets say you have two items, the first one has discount, the second one does not have, you should add the discount for the first item and let the second one with the same price.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
