Google Spreadsheet: Edited responses have a leading apostrophe and are force formatted as textAsked by glidetalk on January 25, 2016 at 05:51 AM
I have a form integrated to google sheets passing fields of different formats including dates, text & numbers. When a response is first entered, it's fine. If the respondent uses the edit link to edit the response, a leading apostrophe is added to the date/time fields, the text fields, the submission ID, the IP, and the edit link field. This results in forcing the formatting to a text field, rendering the edit link hyperlink unusable for further editing and the date fields unusable by the rest of my system expecting a parsable date.
Any suggestions of how to fix or avoid this problem?
Thanks for reporting. I was able to reproduce this problem. I have now raised this to our developers for a resolution. You will be informed here once this is fixed.
