Some Fields are Coming More and Empty Data When I Try to Import a Submission from a Excel FileAsked by Kailash108 on January 28, 2016 at 07:45 AM
In this app it is written:
".xls template format"
I tried many times an it was not working. When I changed the file to .xlsx, it worked.
***So it is written wrong***
When I import 88 submissions, it will import 253. These extra rows are empty except the column for submission date (and ID and Submission ID when exported again).
The Date is destroyed when imported from Excel.
What to do?
This is a re-post of a comment on Import App: Easily import your Excel or CSV data into JotForm
For your first question,
In your Excel file, how many records do you have? If there are more than 88 records and they have empty value, the result could be like yours. Also, please check the format of the data, some syntax error also could cause this error.
For your last one, If the data format of the "Date" field from the Excel file does not match with the template, it could let to that results.
In this case, I suggest you to use CSV file format and please check the data format from the following image:

Waste of time!
Unfortunately, there is no other way to import Excel or CSV data into your form and also, the format of the data is very important. Without correct format, the problems like you have already experienced can be occur. Also, default format of the CSV file should be similar with the example on "http://import.jotform.io/".
