Hello, I've created a form using the "Clear Hidden Field Values" to reset unselected fields, but it doesn't seem to work in Internet Explorer (IE) or in the Widnows Edge browser. I'm trying to calculate fields for a payment form, and if I unselect a quantity field, it needs to deselect the hidden options so they don't get added to the total cost.
It's working fine in Chrome and Firefox, but not in IE or Edge. Is there a fix for this?

I cloned the form and then un-hide the hidden total field so that I can see what is happening. I tested this in Internet Explorer 8 and MS Edge. The calculation is working properly. Here's a screencast:
If you are still having issues with it please let us know so that we can further investigate. Thank you

Thanks for the reply, but did you test it on my form? When I deselect a quantity field it hides the ones below but still leaves the calculation in place for the hidden fields. Is it something with my conditions perhaps?
The below example was in Internet Explorer 11, but it does the same thing in the Edge browser. Works fine in Chrome and Firefox though.
Let me know...

I tested your form and these are my results.
Seems to be working fine on my end.
Could you please try again?

I cleared cache and tried again in both IE and Edge, and when the quantity field is deselected it still shows an amount from the hidden fields. I can get it to work right in Chrome and Firefox, but not in IE or Edge...

What version of IE are you using? I just tried your form and works as expected:

It works the way your showing it, but it's supposed to clear hidden values if the quantity field is empty. I don't want users to have to manually clear it all like you're doing here, but to just empty the quantity field and have it automatically reset the hidden values. Does that make sense?
Using IE 11 & Edge this doesn't work properly, but it works correctly in Chrome and Firefox.

I have tested your form and I'm still unable to replicate your issue, I follow this process, first select an option from the quantity drop down, then an amount is placed in the calculation widget that is on the right side as well as in the Order Total field, then I have selected the blank option in the drop down and the amount is updated as expected.
I used Internet Explorer, the latest version. I have also checked the calculation widgets that you have in your form and I see they are configured properly, there is not anything that could generate this issue.
Do let us know if we are following the correct steps to replicate your issue, and if it's working on your end now.
If possible, please try using a different PC, do let us know if the issue is there as well.

I appreciate all of the help, but I don't think anyone is understanding my question.
1. Select a business card quantity
2. Select the $5 Print Turnaround Time
3. Select any shipping option
Now, when you deselect ONLY the business card option, in Chrome/Firefox the subtotal will be empty as the hidden fields will automatically reset. However, in IE/Edge it will still show an amount (as seen in the attached image) because the hidden fields are not resetting on their own. The user would still need to manually deselect those options.
Does this make more sense?

Thank you, that helped me to find the issue.
After spending some time trying to figure out what is causing the issue, I found a workaround.
Since the total value is not being cleared by default, you may add some conditions, for example, set the total to 0 if the quantity drop down has not selected a value.
Basically, you will force with conditions the functionality to clear the value.
Try adding these conditions to your form, this is only for the first quantity drop down:
You should add these two conditions for each quantity drop down.
Do let us know here if it helps.

Thanks for the suggestion, but when I copy your example I'm still not able to make it work. Do the conditions need to be in a specific order? I had them set to #1 & #2 just like in your example...
- JotForm SupportKevin_GAnswered on February 15, 2016 at 06:07 PM
The order does not matter, you may add the conditions in the order that you want. I have checked your form and I was unable to find the conditions on it.
If it still not working, you may also try with these conditions:
- transtrumbpAnswered on February 15, 2016 at 07:04 PM
Yeah, you couldn't see the conditions because they weren't working so I deleted them. These new one's you gave were no different...they didn't fix the issue.
I also don't see any reason for the #2 condition in your recent reply or the #1 from the previous one. The subtotal calculation already works, so it seems to me that the other condition, the "IF Business Cards Quantity IS EMPTY", should be the only one needed. I just need the hidden fields to automatically reset/clear.
This is an option from JotForm Advanced Settings, so shouldn't this be fixed? Kind of pointless to add a feature like this that doesn't work across all browsers, and I've tried every combination of conditions I can think of to make this work, with no luck...

I am able to reproduce same issue that you're having. The issue is related with your Business Cards Quantity.
Here is how the problem occurs:
1) I've filled out Business Cards Quantity and Shipping options.
2) Then I deselected Business Cards Quantity.
On Google Chrome it resets the values when you deselect the Business Cards Quantity.
However, on Internet Explorer it doesn't reset the total value when you deselect the Business Cards Quantity field.
Here is the screenshot of your issue on Internet Explorer:
I will forward that issue to our developers. We will inform you via this thread when we solve the problem.
