We are a multimillion dollar Canadian company and all of our customer contact web forms on our website are hosted by Jotform. The recent Government suspention of your service on the .com domain created an outage that we did not anticipate or expect. Your company did an excellent job dealing with the problem and was very transparent with the issues. I applaud your repose to your customers and the service you provided.

However this event has show me a weakness in online services we get form US based companies that I had not considered. If the government can just take down a domain without notice, then we will not be able rely on the online business services from US companies.

As the CIO and IT manager for this company I will not be able to recommend or continue to purchase online services from US based companies. The risks now outweighs the potential advantages of your service and any other online service from a US based company we may have purchased.

We are going to have to switch to interanlly hosted forms to ensure an outage like this does not happen again and if it does it will be something we are in control of. If you need additional statements from us to take to your governement please let me know I will be more than happy to provide them to you.

You have created an excellent product and service, Good luck

I can certainly understand your decision. Actually, we have purchased the jotform.ca domain name and we are planning to serve forms for our Canadian customers from there. We are currently on a US registrar but I will look into transferring it into a Canadian registrar if possible. Do you think that would help you keep using JotForm?

We also have a server based version of JotForm. It is possible to move your existing JotForm account to it.

    Thanks.

It turns out, Hover, the domain registrar we used for jotform.ca is a Canadian registrar. You can fully use JotForm over this domain. All you need to do is to change jotform.com to jotform.ca on your links.

    Thanks.
