Paypal Pro: getting a 'merchant country unsupported' error when submitting the formAsked by OMF2016 on February 15, 2016 at 05:27 AM
Paypall pro doesn't work in all merchant country, so kind of helpless.
This is a re-post of a comment on Difference Between PayPal & PayPal Pro
You are in the country where Paypal Pro is supported. Did you get an error when trying to complete your form with Paypal Pro payment on it? Can you please tell us what is the problem with your form? Also, let us know the form URL so we can check it for you.
I'm working for a festival and we create a couple of form with payment
integration. We've a paypal account for our association.
For our festival sportmen have to complete payment into the form to
validate the inscription.
We find the Paypal pro option perfect, cause it combine the two possibility
of payment : CB or paypal.
Link with the test form I use to work on. I get a couple of problems.
I've made test with a paypal sandbox account and with the sandbox activate
in the paypal intergration. When I try the integration it says : "Please
check your api login credentials", but i'm using API credential directly
from the developer paypal site.
I've tried with different API, but nothing to do, always the same message.
So I've decided to pass out this problem and make direct test with a little
The intergration with our paypal account worked. I complete my
intergration, save my form and copy and paste de publish link in a blank
window to fill my test form.
ANs when I click on submit it says in a new page - merchant country
When I looked for a solution, I've read in a jotform forum that the pro
payment with paypal was available only in US, UK and Canada. When I looked
in the developer paypal site they confirm this Info.
But i'm quite sure I can use the paypal card service in France, with a
french merchant site.
What can I do???

I just checked this again and found out that Paypal Pro doesn't support France yet. In this case, you have to use Paypal Standard. You can still accept Guest Checkouts, but please make sure to enable this in your account.
