I tested submissions with Firefox in December and had no issues. When I attempted a production upload using our form in January, it hung numerous times in a row, never completing (left for more than 30 minutes on one attempt). I tried Safari and it worked with no issues, so since I hadn't gotten feedback from anyone else, I assumed it was a conflict with one of my Firefox plugins. However I was just notified by another user that they experienced a similar hang with Firefox and had to complete with Chrome. The only known difference between my tests and the production uploads is the integration with PayPal. I do not typically test with PayPal payments, I simply do the upload and check the files and emails on the other end.
I am using Firefox 44.0.2, Funnelcake on OS X 10.9.5 (64-bit). The other user is Windows 7, 64-bit, but I don't know which version of Firefox. The form with which we are having trouble is "2016 NVACC Abstract Exhibit Upload Form" and you can see it on our website at: http://nvacc.org/home/abstract-exhibit/abstract-exhibit-upload-form/
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

No you should not have any issues using your form in firefox browser. I did test your embedded form in firefox browser and I was able to submit your form successfully. I selected paypal and I was successfully redirected to PayPal checkout page. Please check the screenshot below:
You have also embedded your form using its iFrame embed code and that will rule out any conflict issue.
I would suggest you to please test your form again and get back to us if you have any trouble. You may also like to ask your users if they are getting any error message.

Still not working. Button changes from Submit Form to Please Wait.... I only added a single image (so it should return almost immediately (upload was only about 300K). Hangs indefinitely. Never got the PayPal screen at all.

I've cloned and tested your form. I am not able to reproduced the same issue that you're having on your cloned form. However I've checked the source code of your website. I see that there is Mixed Content error as you see below:
You can solve that issue by changing the image the link of URL
