How can I create an if then statement in the notification email

I am trying to show certain information based from the users answers in the email notification.  How can I go about doing this? 

If the user answers a question with additional follow up questions, how can I show the additional answer when necessary.

We cannot add conditional statements directly into emails. However, it is possible to add multiple Email Alerts which will be triggered based on the users answers.
