PayPal Integration: Removing Paypal category entries and not losing database data.

    Dear support,

We use the PayPal plugin and have set-up different categories for users to make their selection from drop-downs as shown below.

At some point we will need to remove one or more of the categories entries as we have no space left for further registrations in these areas. So if I for example go into the wizard and remove  "Beginner Free Dance" entry from the selection drop-down, will this still retain database information for entries previously made?

Note I'm not suggesting removing a whole Category of drop-down selections i.e. "SOLO FREE DANCE" but just one of the entries within a category.

I hope this makes sense and if you could advise under what conditions we would lose previously entered data for this plugin?

    Many thanks

    Kevin

First of all, you asked a really good question I've also wondered it. At the first I wasn't so sure about losing data when you've removed one option from your drop-down field. Then, I've tested it on my end and I realized that you are not losing the data. =)

First of all, I've sent a test submission on your cloned form.

Then, I've removed that option as you see below:

Finally, when I've checked the submission I see that the data is still there.

    Hi Beril,

Many thanks for your quick reply and also many thanks for testing this out as I was going to on a live database to simulate it as best as I could. Anyhow this is very good news and will help us soon when we need to remove entries due to no more availability.

    Many thanks again

    Kind regards
    Kevin

    Hi Beril,

Sorry to bother you, but Just another question on this same topic. Instead of removing s single category entry as you described, can I remove a complete category and all its entries anddoes the data still remain in the database? i.e If I remove “SOLO PATTERN OR SHORT DANCE” which then removes six properties entries as well will all this data remain?

    Thanks for you help

    Kevin

Yes, I have tested and the data is still there on the submission, see my example below.

I have submitted my form and purchased a product, it shows in the submission.

I deleted that product from my integration and when checked the submission the record was still there.

So, you may delete options and products from your integration and the previously submitted data will stay there, you should not loose any previous submitted data.
