Notification Emails and GMail

I use GMail because it has quite a powerful CRM capability called Streak.

It also has subject line grouping which puts all emails with the same subject into a 'Conversation'.

Unfortunately that makes GMail incompatible with Streak because you can't sort emails that are part of a conversation, funny that.

I am talking to GMail, well, sent in a support request but they are not so forthcoming.

However, it occurs to me that although it is a GMail issue, if JotForm could put a unique identifier in the subject line of notification emails that would solve the problem.

Would it be possible for JotForm to do this? Like add an incrementing number to the subject line.

    Thanks,

    Dennis.

Yes, I believe that is possible in JotForm. You can use the "Unique ID" widget to create an auto incremented ID. Here's a guide about it: http://www.jotform.com/help/79-Add-Custom-Unique-IDs-to-your-Form-Submissions

You now have a unique ID in your form, you just need to place it in the subject line in your email notification settings. Here's how:

    1. First, add your "Unique ID" widget in your form. Now format it depending on how you would like it appear in the email.

    2. Now click "Emails" and edit the existing notification that you have.

    3. In the "Compose Email" window, you can easily change the "Subject" line.

In my case, I'm using the form title - unique ID widget and the full name field.

    4. This is how I received the email for my test submission, now each email will have its own subject line.

PS: You can also use the submission ID, you can find it under the "Form Fields" list in your "Compose Email" window.

Do let us know if you need more information on this.

    Wow Charlie,
That was great, quick response and very detailsed.
    It seems to work.
The subject line I got on the test email was
    (TEST) A new response received for {form_title} {uniqueId}
I assume a real email will have the proper text and numbers in where the
    fields are.
    Regards,
    Dennis.
