How can I create a double submit button form and prepopulates the 2nd form with specific info?

Asked by polishedcarz on March 16, 2016 at 03:09 PM

Hi I created online quote forms labeled Rate Look-Up (1st form) and Clone of Rate Look-Up (2nd form). I would like to do a few things with them.

    1. I would like for the quote to show up on a customized email notification. Meaning, only the responses chosen will show up along with the quote type. I find it challenging to have the email say what I would like it to say because I don't know what they will say. I would like to collect at minimum their contact info just in case they decide not to book this time but could be added to our interest list. Or perhaps follow-up to see why they didn't book with us.

    2. If they like the quote and want to move forward, how can the info they already entered, including the quote number, transfer or prepopulate to the next phase of the form. Once they submit this time, we get the actual notification to assist them.

Lastly, do you recommend all of this info being on one form or two?

I understand that you want to collect the contact information of your customers and send the quote information based on the information filled on your JotForm. Since you want to store the contact information, you may have two forms so that the first form with only contact information and the second form with quote-related information.

Once the first form is submitted:

    - the information will be stored in the respective form submissions

    - the form may be redirected to the second form with prepopulated values using Redirect page URL from Thank you page.

    - send an email to the user with the reference link (same URL used for redirection) to the second form so that they can come back later

Please see the form below that can be used as the first form to collect customer's information.

You may clone this form to your account to see how the redirection works.

Now, the second can be used for generating quote numbers and sending the quote to the customer normally.

Hope this information helps! Please get back to us if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Hi Kiran,

Thanks for your response. The purpose of the form is to give a quote so unfortunately your suggestion is not what Im looking for. The customer must put in their info in order to get a quote. If the customer likes the quote and wants to make a reservation, they will move on. When they move on, I would prefer for the form to already be prepopulated with info they already entered, including quote number.

If the customer doesn't like the quote, that will be it. Instead of it being a total lost, we could at least gather their contact info in order to follow up.

Lastly, is it possible to send a customized autoresponder with the info provided on the form?

If I understand correctly what you need is to give the customer a quote, if then decided to make the reservation can be presented with the reservation section right?

If that's the case, I do not think you need two forms for that. You can create a single form and hide all the Reservation fields, add a checkbox customers can check if they are satisfied by the quote, then use conditions to show those Reservation fields if they choose to make the reservation.

Lastly, is it possible to send a customized autoresponder with the info provided on the form?

In case you want a different email to be sent based on whether Reservation is made or not,  you would create two different Autoresponder Notification ( One for Reservation made another for No Reservation made ) and use the same checkbox with conditions changing the Notifier depending it is ticked or not.
