The PDF creator: unable to create PDF, stuck on working

Asked by AllTalkSpeech on March 19, 2016 at 11:04 PM

I just spent an hour typing into a PDF version of a form, I need to be in PDF, and when I pressed save acrobat quit without saving the form!!! VERY VERY annoying.  Plus I sent a PDF form to three teachers to ask for their observations of a child and when they pressed submit it crashed and didn't submit to jot form and turned everything they had written into some sort of programming jargon.

I just can't afford the time to have this happen.

    any suggestions.

You haven't managed to make is as good as Adobe forms central yet, even though jot form is clearly a great product.  Now I have to start all over again and my working week just gets longer.

I test it on your form http://www.jotform.co/form/60718764664870 and it seems to be working at this time.

It did took a bit longer due to the size of the form (took less than 5mins on my end).

    Can you please retry.

Give it more time and wait for the 'working' animation to complete. The PDF Form should be created.

Do let us know if issue persist.

    Thanks.

@Jonathan, did you recreate the scenario of the customer? Based on your screencast, you just scrolled the entire pdf. But you did not fill it out and save or submit. That is when the problem happens, the pdf crashing after saving or submitting. The pdf form was alo sent to 3 other teachers. Just imagine all of their frustration and time wasted. Also, it took the customer 1 hour to fill out the form. And he/she will have to do the entire process again. Have a little empathy and understand what the issue or concern is before diagnosing and giving instructions.

I just tested your PDF form using Adobe Acrobat, and it was submitted:

I can see you received it:

I so desperately need Jot Form to work, I am happy to take on paid subscription. Why won’t the PDF version of the form save any data entry when that is what I needed it to be, a REPORT, as opposed to a “survey”.
I KNOW you have tested this before, is my Mac too old? are my reports too big? WHAT is going on????

    With thanks and kind regards

I need to be able to report data into Pdf forms and Jot form does not allow me to do that, nor doe it allow me to produce a report if I use the top as an “e-form”. I am so frustrated.
    Any ideas?

There might be several reasons for that issue such as internet connection or Pdf reader. We would appreciate it if you could provide us the Pdf reader that you're using. We generally suggest to our users to use Adobe Acrobat Reader or Foxit.

Please check the guide below for more information about fillable PDF forms:

I would suggest clearing the form cache and creating a Fillable PDF of your form again to resolve the issue. To clear your form cache, simply follow this guide: How to Clear Your Form Cache?

If the issue persists, please let us know.
    Regards.

Hi Christian, Unfortunately clearing the Cache did not help with the PDF dilemma.
    Any other ideas?

What is the form you are referring to? Please try resetting the PDF design:

    1) Go to submission view, and click on PDF>>Customize PDF:

    2) Then click on the reset button:

Let us know if you need more help.

    HI David,
When I followed your directions to re-set the PDF if told me it would permanently erase the design of the form. I don’t think this is what I was hoping as then I would have to do it all again.
    Any other suggestions?
Last advice I had from your end was to clear cache and that was supposed to work.
    Thanks for any further help.

I see that clearing the Form Cache did nor resolve the issue. I also noticed that you were referring to the PDF submission, not the fillable PDF. Since clearing the form cache did not work, unfortunately, there is no other option to resolve the issue other than resetting the PDF to its default design, then recreating your design again.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

    Hi there Jot Form
I am having trouble getting the PDF version of the form to include all the fields that I added. I used the midget with the check box drop down form, but it doesn’t seem to load them into the PDF version.
The form in question is called Pre-school speech and language summary, April 2016.
Are you able to assist me?
    Thanks and kind regards
