How to setup email notifications on our form?

I'm finding the new page anything but easy. I've created a new form based on one I already have in operation. I am trying to set up the addresses for notifications to go to. After a lot of struggling I have managed to enter a new e-mail address (it's not obvious that after putting in a new e-mail address you have to go throughj 2edit e-mail" before you can save the address). The problem I'm now having is that although the send address is OK I can't amend the reply-to e-mail address or the sender name box as they can only be filled from a dropdown menu which is prepopulated with the questions in my form - which are totally irrelevant.

Also, having created a new address (Notification 3) I only want that address to receive notification e-mails. If I try to delete Notification 2 (there's no notification 1) I get a message saying do I want to delete this for ever so I daren't delete it in case this address is removed from my other forms which work OK.

I am sure there is a simple way of doing all this once you've worked out the trick but so far I haven't discovered how to do it and the process isn't at all obvious to me even after watching the how to videos.

I would like to suggest checking out the following guide: Setting Up Email Notifications

Once you do, please do try to set the email up and do let us know if by any chance you are still having any issues with the emails and their setup.

Once you do we would be happy to assist with the same.

As usual, a few minutes after posting something some of the answers start becoming obvious! My new form doesn't have name or e-mail fields in it (I'm going to get back to the form requestor about this!) so I don't have the option of using these to fill in the sender and reply e-mail boxes. Is this why I don't get a "next " display on the form? If these fields are essential (I don't believe they are as I have got it to work now) perhaps a note to this effect should be included on the page, if not then the 'next' option should be shown as soon as there's a valid send to e-mail address.

Thanks Ben, I did go through this twice but this didn't help - I didn't get the responses in the video and now think that was because of the absence of e-mail and name fields in the form.

I think I've cracked it now - I have a bit more confidence now to delete the unwanted notification address as I assume that won't affect addresses set up for other forms.

Thanks for the offer of further help.

You are welcome and yes, each email template is for itself, so deleting one should not remove the others. Now in regards to the email notifications. Actually they are created for you as soon as you create a new form and you should be able to add them at any point to your form.

For example there are some forms that do not have name field nor email field.

It is however a different thing about the email autoresponders, which might be that gave you the issue.

In short, the email notification is the email that is sent to you, while email autoresponder is the email that is sent to the people submitting the form. This email template requires that you have an email field or a text box field on your form which you would be able to use to connect to email autoresponder.

Hope that this gives you a bit more details on the issue and sorry if it adds any confusion.

In regards to assistance, we are always happy to assist, so the same applies as I mentioned earlier, just let us know :)
