    I found this Q&A:

How secure is this? Would the purchase of a SSL for my site help?

Would I then be able to run the CC information manually on my exixting merchant account?

Would there be any other $ outlay, say to PayPal?

I'm looking for a secure payment form type that my customers can use to submit their payment with cc info to me for payment on travel arrangements. We submit the payments to the vendors, such as the cruise line, so there is no need for a merchant account.

You can change the forms address from http://www.jotform.com/form/123123123 TO https://www.jotform.com/form/123123123 so that the communication will be done securely. You can give this page's address to your customers. Thanks

    Thanks

    Thank you for contacting us.

    How secure is this?

Secure or SSL forms are for secure communications between the client (i.e the end user of your form) & JotForms' servers. These communications are encrypted to prevent snooping by a 3rd party, and are useful if any of your forms contain sensitive information such as credit card or payment details or any other data of a personal nature.

You can enable SSL on your form to transmit the data securely.  However once the data is saved on our servers it is not encrypted. Credit card data is considered as sensitive information and as such it would not be safe to keep it on our servers. You can use the form to collect the card data but you will have to do this on your own risk.

It is simple to enable SSL on forms created with JotForm just change http to https.

When getting the Embed Code you can also choose the secure form option:
    1. Open the form in JotForm
    2. Click on 'Setup & Embed'
    3. Enable 'Secure Form' then copy the embed code.

Here are some additional suggestions to increase the security of your data:

Would the purchase of a SSL for my site help?

It is not mandatory, as we have SSL certificates on our domains. However, if you don't have a secure webserver i.e your websites' address doesn't start with https, if you embed a secure form URL into a webpage, the end users' web browser will not report the connection as being entirely secure. In these instances, you may be better providing a link to the form using its JotForm URL.

Would I then be able to run the CC information manually on my exixting merchant account?

Yes, you will be able to do it.

Would there be any other $ outlay, say to PayPal?

If you are not going to use any processing service i.e. PayPal, Authorize.net, Google Checkout etc., there is no any fees.

Please feel free to contact us if you need any further assistance.
