    Insert answer from one field to another field label?

    Asked by isaactobelen on March 29, 2016 at 10:17 PM

    I would like to insert a person's first name into another label

    For example.

    Label 1 : what is your first name?

    user inputs "Isaac"

    Label2: Isaac, what is your telephone number?

    Can I customize the label based on the input of a previous field?

    That's possible when you use Text Tool as your field label then insert the field tag of the field you want its value to appear in the text. The Text Tool will replace the field tag e.g. {name} with the actual field value.

    Since Text tool is a separate field, it might create spacing between the field you want it to be as the label so you have to inject custom CSS codes into your form to get rid of the spacing. The following CSS Code should help.

    .form-html p{margin:0;}

    [data-type="control_text"] {

    margin-bottom: -10px;

    padding-bottom: 0;

    Feature Request to enable Piping Answers directly to field labels.

    - currently redundant for the workaround to create a text field to replace the field label (since piping is not an option),

    - then pipe values into a text field,

    - then apply the css.

    This process would be tedious and cumbersome when there's numerous piping to be done.

    Just FYI, I have raised this thread as a feature request so it will be considered in the future.

    @grade4pagasa I'll split your thread and open a separate request. The more users requesting this feature, the higher it would get a chance to be implemented sooner. Thanks!

    We will let you know once this is rolled out.

    This has now been implemented.  It is now possible to reference other fields in field labels.  Reference as so: {fieldname}.  You can find a field's name buy right clicking on the field and selecting "Edit Properties".

    Please let us know if you have any problems or questions.

    Is this syntax correct?
    You entered {years} years and {months} months

    I can't see the field label of the radio button reflecting the choices selected in this sample form
