Hi, I would like to create two forms. One which asks people to enter a team names and then another form which asks them to make a number of decision. On the second form I would like them to be able to select their team name from a list which is created from all the team names entered in the first form. Is this possible?

    Many thanks

    Hello Dixonmes,

In your first form, does your user manually type the team name in a text box?

Unfortunately it is currently not possible to populate dropdown fields from previous submission data or form any external sources. You can only add the options manually in the dropdown field of your form.

If your first form also has a dropdown field and you want to display the same selection in the second form as well then it is possible to achieve your requirement. You may like to take a look at the following guide which should help you on how to pass the form data from one form to another:  https://www.jotform.com/help/351-How-to-Automatically-Pass-Form-Data-to-Another-Form

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for your response Ashwin.
Having gone through the pages you recommended it may prove to be a good alternate solution. I am curious as to whether it is possible to pass data entered in a text field in one form to options for a radio button in another?
If the above is not possible and I proceed to follow the instructions you provided is it possible to put a thank you page after submitting the first form so that they are not automatically directed to the prefilled second form – rather a thank you page appears with a button that might say ‘Proceed to the next form’ and when clicked on will direct them to the second form with the prepopulated fields.
    Thanks again for your help.
    Kind regards

    Hello Dixonmes,

Unfortunately no. It is not possible pass the value of textbox from one form to the dropdown of another form.

The second approach seems to be possible. It is possible to post and display the submission data in thank you page where you can display or build a hyperlink to pre-populate second form. You may like to take a look at the following guide how to post submissions to thank you page:  https://www.jotform.com/help/201-How-to-Post-Answers-to-Thank-you-Page

You may also like to take a look at the following guide on how to post submission data to your own thank you page:  https://www.jotform.com/help/51-How-to-Post-Submission-Data-to-Thank-You-Page
