Continue forms later option causing forms to lag and crashAsked by LydiaBaird on April 14, 2016 at 11:48 AM
My form, Supplier Profile Form V.3 has been running so slowly I can't fill it out. What is the issue and how can I resolve it asap?
fill continue later
As far as I can tell, it is just a really long form. There are nearly 400 fields in the form and this puts quite a strain on the browser. I generally recommend using no more than 200 fields in a form. I can forward this to our developers to have a closer look, however, this may simply be a case of too many fields for the browser to handle.
This is due to the "Continue Forms Later" option:
Disabled this in your form preferences and the form should function properly once again.
It was running fine for the past two months, but over the last week has
been impossibly slow. If it weren't a new problem, I would agree, but since
it's new please do forward to your developers to address. Our customers
need to fill out these forms and are refusing to do so at current pace.
I'm not sure if my previous post showed up on your end, in any case, this is due to the "Continue Forms Later" option:
Disable this in your form preferences and the form should function properly once again.
I am not satisfied with this answer. We have been using the same form with the same features with no issues for the past 3-4 weeks. This problem started in serious within the last 48 hours. I made no changes to the form for the past 2 weeks. There has to be something else going on that you can address.
My colleague has already raised this up and a developer assigned to the same Lydia, but please do note that Auto-fill feature was never suggested on long forms. A very long form is any with 100 fields or more.
Now, the recommended option for long forms is to use the email sessions.
The reason is that it will allow your users to come back later while it works on long forms by saving data per page - and avoiding the issue as you have above.
