How to limit the number of times that an option can be selected?

Hi I have a checkbox field that offers two options. Persons can either choose one or the other but I want to be sure that no more than 10 persons can check either choice. Is this possible to do?

This is possible by using the Gift Registry widget, it will allow you to set a max number of  selections for each option, using normal check boxes could be so hard, please take a look on the widget: http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/gift_registry.
