How to create selection groups using smart forms

Asked by sisty2 on April 16, 2016 at 06:42 PM

    I have two sports.

1 is for females only. the 2nd is for male and female team mates.

How do I prevent a male from signing up for the female only sport.

    Thank you

You will need to create at least 2 sets of the "sports" items in the payment field

then use Conditional statement to show only the sports for M or F base on the question "Gender Student Athlete #1"

Let us know if you are not able to do it.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jonathan,

Yes, this makes so much sense.

    This will solve my dilemma.

    Thank you.

    Jonathan & Chriistian,

This is not working like I thought it would.

This is a registration for a family with children both boy and girls.

So I think I need to keep this as it is listed. Or at least I have not figured out how to have two boxes in the same payment area.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

    Hi,

Unfortunately, you cannot have 2 boxes in one payment area. You cannot have 2 payment areas in one form as well. But you can create 2 forms with separate payment methods, get their embed codes and embed them into one form. Please see How to Create a Basic Multiple Payment form for more details.

by "create 2 forms with separate payment methods" do you mean within the current form?

I am confused. I am trying to create a form for families to use who have multiple children at the same school wanting to participate in our sports program.

I am sorry that I am confused. I hope you can help me. Maybe a screen shot of your description.

I do appreciate your help on this.

    Thank you.

Thank you for explaining further. I have a better understanding on what you wanted to do.

I checked further on your form http://www.jotform.us/form/61068300852147 and I think having 2 separate group of Sports Choice... will be complicated to apply since the multiple children can also have different gender as you add them.

Since it actually were just 2 sports, you actually need 2 items in Payment (Soccer and Basketball). Than just include in the item option a Gender and Quantity

    User guide: How-to-add-options-to-Payment-Forms

I will create a demo form base on this concept. I'll get back to you shortly

    Johnathan,

That makes for sense to me.

I look forward to your demo on how I will do this.

Please check my test form here https://www.jotform.com/61077176980968

    It work like this:

There is another option wherein it uses custom payment form. Meaning you will not use the Payment tool for the calculation but regular fields instead.. and then you will just past the Total amount payment to the paymen tool.

    User guide: How-to-pass-a-calculation-to-a-payment-field

but check first the previous suggestion if that will work for you already.
