I was trying to downgrade to the free plan and I am concerned I canceled my subscription—I didn't mean to do that

You've canceled your paid subscription, not really closing down your account (which is not possible on your end). You'll be automatically set back to the free plan tomorrow, April 25, 2016. You can still access your forms and its data, you can still create new forms.
