How to check options in a check box using keyboards shortcut only?

When completing forms, is it possible that tabbing could include the checkboxes with the ability to ‘check’ them by hitting the space bar?

You are able to fill a form using your keyboard only, for example, you will go through your form by clicking on the tab key, if you want to go back because you did not fill properly a field then you are able to do this by clicking on shift + tab. 

If you want to mark options in a check box, you need to press the space bar, the same if you want to undo that selection.
