How to unselect the default option in the checkbox field?

I'm not sure I fully understand your concern. Are you trying to remove a default selected value set on your checkbox on the form builder? If so, you can select the checkbox and use the tool bar on top of the form builder in order to add or remove your default selections.

However if I'm misunderstanding your concern, it would be great if you can provide us more information about your issue.

thanks for your response, I only had one checkbox option and I wanted not to be checked as a default. I went with a radio button instead.

It's also possible in the Checkbox field. Just make sure that no option is preselected, based on Liyam's screenshot.
