We are using JotForm as the front end and MailChimp as the back end.
When configuring the MailChimp integration, at the JotForm end, do we need to check the box that says "Send MailChimp Welcome Email" if, at the MailChimp end, we are using the automation workflow that will automatically send a welcome email to a new subscriber that is added to the list?

The option you mentioned is optional. If you also tick the checkbox "MailChimp Welcome Email" in the integration, it will be a different email that will be sent to the subscriber beside the "Welcome" email that you have setup on your backend.
