    MyIDEAS : consistent language support is needed - The top banner of web site changes to English when viewing support forum

    Has anyone else noticed how the language support, other than English, is ... inconsistent ?

    I will be concentrating on the French translation.  However, I'm certain some of my suggestions hold true for at least a few other translations.  I will let others take care of these other languages.  I will concentrate on French.

     

    This first of a series to help in making the language support more consistent will touch on the top banner of the JotForm web page.

     

    If I login, having my settings already set to French for both my browser and JotForm, I get this :

     

    Which is relatively good.  I would just translate the "plugins" to "plugiciels".  The "Support" could technically be translated to "Appui", but that's nitpicking on my part.

     

    However, if I click on "Support" I suddenly return to the English version of the banner :

     

    I might understand the content of the page need to stay in English given support is only (?) offered in Englsih. But shouldn't the banner itself, at the very least, stay in the language of my choice ?

     

    It would be nice if the prompts on all screens, throughout JotForm, follow the language of my choice.  More on this to follow as I try to go through every corners of JotForm (for French).  I'll try to break the thread down by sections/areas of JotForm web site just to keep the number of threads down to a minimum. as  this one will be quite extensive ...

     

    Where others have similar issues with different languages, I suggest you start a separate thread.

    I will forward this to our developers to have a look.  The language settings should indeed continue through through other areas of the site. At this time, it does not look like it is possible to change the language settings for the support forum.  Even when changing the settings from a forum page, the language remains in English:

    Exact, in the forum pages everything changes to English.  I kind of understand the logic.  Maybe it should be more specific to "Forum" and have just a "Jotform" link to return to the rest ?  Then one would not wonder why their language preference is lost ...

    It's not the end of world, but part of the UI experience.  For now, it's made to look as much as the rest of the service/site, but it isn't since it's stuck to English.  An issue only for all your non-English users.
