Limit seats based on session selectionAsked by TheRecClub on May 13, 2016 at 04:27 PM
I'm running an event which is two cruises - each cruise is limited to 14 people total.
Tickets are differently priced for members and non-members.
Is it possible to limit tickets per session (cruise)? Is it possible to display the number of tickets remaining?
Or should I do two forms...
session Selection two forms
You may use the Gift Registry Widget. This will enable you to count how many users bought ticket for a certain item and home are left to buy.
Please let us know if this helps.
thank you for that (nice widget!). Unfortunately, that won't work for this particular event.
I have 14 tickets (of any sort) in total for the event. So, that is there are only 14 seats available per event. The seats can be purchased by Members or Non Members but I can only sell 14.
Think of them like stock - I only have 14 bags of sweets. There is a different price for members and non-members but all together I can only sell 14 bags.
Sorry if I'm not clear.
Perhaps something like this? https://form.jotform.co/61298149290866
Thanks Bdavid - almost but not quite. It's tricky because people can buy multiple tickets and a member can buy member and non member tickets.
I ended up using two forms (one for each event) and we're counting the tickets manually.
We're glad if you've found a workaround that can satisfy your needs, but I believe such a functionality can still be made in a more automated fashion. :)
If your users can select multiple items/tickets, you may want to use our Inventory widget instead of Gift Registry:
This will allow your users to select multiple tickets, out of total of 14 available ones:
If this would work to your needs, we could also make a hidden field where we would calculate the number people enter inside "Rec Club Members" plus "Temp Members", and if this number does not match the number of selected tickets in the inventory widget, we can also conditionally hide the Submit button / payment tool from the form:
This would ensure that people enter the number of members/non-members that is the same as the number of tickets they select on the Inventory widget.
