I want to be able to choose multiple options under a drop down

I want to be able to choose multiple options under a drop down. I created a drop down list and turned 'Allow Multiple' on but it does not allow you to choose multiple. Only one highlights at a time.

This is a standard behavior for multi select drop downs, the multi selection is available by ctrl + click (Windows) and cmd + click (Mac) or shift + click.
