Spread2jot app: Unable to select more than 2 headings. CASE CLOSEDAsked by AA_C on May 17, 2016 at 11:14 PM
I tried this link for spread2jot with 3 different spread sheet forms and it failed with each. It would not let me get the right headings, if I highlight some then select another it would un-select the first ones, very annoying. The forms it created were useless. For example formID=61378112042951. And shows 31 unread and it hasn't been posted? I looked at two and they are blank. What gives?
I checked the Spread2Jot app on my end, and it appears that I was able to replicate the issue. I am unable to select more than 2 headings. When I try to select the third, the two previously selected are suddenly not selected.
I will have to forward this issue to our backend team for further investigation. We will let you know on this thread once we have any updates.
When importing a spreadsheet into JotForm, Robert, please select the first and last column in the sheet that you wish to import. The Fix Labels button is for selecting a range of fields that should be converted.
It seems that the wording on the Spread2Jot app may be a bit confusing, stating to select "first and second" column, while it was referring to selecting the "first and last column" - all columns in between will be included. I will include in the ticket a recommendation for changing this wording on Spread2Jot app.
Please see the following screencast for a better understanding of how to use the Fix Labels button:
If you see to the right of the labels with orange background, the Spread2Jot app detected there are more columns in the sheet I've used, but none of them looked like a heading:
The app does it best to detect only the headings that should be imported as form fields, and they are given the orange background. In case our app detected wrong, you have the option to use the "Fix Labels" button and select a different range of fields for importing.
When it comes to the issue with submissions automatically being created, it has been moved to another support thread, where we will assist you shortly:
That explains it.
Saying "the wording on the Spread2Jot app may be a bit confusing" is a bit of an understatement.
There is a little job for you Boris, re-write it.
Thanks for the help as always,
We apologize for the confusion. I see that my colleague has included the recommendation for changing this wording on Spread2Jot app to the ticket. We will have to wait for higher support for any updates from them. If we have any news on this issue, we will let you know on this thread.
We have update the label selection instructions.
Thank you for reporting this issue.
