    How can I change the format of the submission e-mails?

    Asked by marzia on March 14, 2012 at 08:29 AM

    I have successfully created a form and changed the settings so when someone submits it I receive an e-mail.

    The submission e-mails I receive displays the details entered in the form in plain text, which makes it awkward to read. How can I change this to display the details in the same format as the form on screen?

    Many thanks

    Hello Marzia;

    This can be done by  copying the form's source code and pasting it onto the email alert's source. This would require HTML knowledge since one cannot just insert the field placeholders ( {email}, {name}, etc ) onto the email content. These must be entered manually inside the input tags as "value" attribute. Also, the copied form tags will not be as pretty as it looks in the actual form because emails are formatted very differently from webpages.

    I suppose you continue on the default form and can download the submitted details in any format you need like excel/PDF, the steps can be obtained  at our user guide link; http://www.jotform.com/help/
